About the Role
IQM is a global leader in designing, building, and selling superconducting quantum computers, providing both on-premises full-stack quantum computers and a cloud platform. With over 300 employees and offices across Europe, Asia, and the US, IQM serves leading high-performance computing centers, research labs, universities, and enterprises.
The Director, Investor Relations will lead and develop IQM's internal IR function, acting as the primary contact for the global investment community. This role demands strategic insight, analytical rigor, and sound judgment to influence key stakeholders and support the company’s long-term success, operating in a fast-paced, international environment.
Working closely with the VP of Strategy & Corporate Development and the CEO, this position is central to shaping the company’s capital markets strategy, narrative, and external positioning, including driving IPO readiness and execution.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive global Investor Relations strategy.
Support and drive IPO readiness and execution, and subsequently build and evolve a best-in-class IR function.
Serve as the primary point of contact for investors and analysts, building, expanding, and actively managing a high-quality institutional investor base, with particular emphasis on the US and Europe.
Own and lead the quarterly earnings process, including development of financial press releases, investor presentations, conference call scripts, Q&A materials, and related communications.
Shape and continuously refine the company’s equity story, leveraging market intelligence, analyst research, and competitive insights.
Systematically monitor market data, analyst coverage, competitive positioning, and sell-side consensus models, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Drive strategic investor marketing and engagement efforts, including conferences, non-deal roadshows, analyst days, and company-hosted events.
Ensure best-in-class financial reporting, disclosures, and governance standards, working closely with Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
Oversee consistent and compelling investor communications across all channels, in partnership with Corporate Communications & Marketing.
Manage relationships with external IR advisors, PR agencies, research analysts, investment banks, and IR platforms.
Lead and mentor IR team members, fostering a high-performing, analytically rigorous, and strategically aligned function.
Requirements
Min. 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in investor relations, sell-side research, or investment banking; IPO experience is a major plus.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Finance, Economics, Business, Law, Communications, Physics, Engineering); advanced degree or certification preferred.
Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory and compliance frameworks (Reg FD, SEC disclosure requirements, NASDAQ standards), corporate finance principles, financial accounting, and IR best practices.
Advanced analytical capabilities, including valuation methodologies, financial modeling, and the ability to interpret market data, analyst research, and competitive intelligence.
Proven ability to manage highly sensitive material nonpublic information with discretion, integrity, and sound judgment.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and ethical decision-making in high-visibility environments.
Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships within the global investment community and influence senior, high-profile stakeholders.
Experience mentoring and developing team members, fostering a high-performing IR function.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with exceptional command of English.
Confident and credible public speaker, capable of engaging investors, analysts, senior leadership, and boards.
Ability to translate complex technical and financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives tailored to sophisticated investor audiences.
Strong strategic and analytical thinker, capable of generating actionable insights from financial, market, and competitive data.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, navigating ambiguity and balancing financial, regulatory, and strategic considerations simultaneously.
Intellectual curiosity and willingness to deeply engage in emerging technologies; experience in Quantum Computing and/or AI highly desirable.
Ability to synthesize research into thematic content and thought leadership that strengthens the company’s equity story.
Skilled in developing high-impact IR materials, presentations, and stakeholder-specific communications.
