Software Engineering Manager (Servicing Platform Engineering)

They are seeking an L7 Engineering Manager to lead their Furnishing Engineering team, which is responsible for developing and operating pipelines and services that deliver accurate and timely credit reporting data to external bureaus and partners at scale. This role involves setting technical direction and execution strategy across data pipelines, platform services, and reliability controls, while balancing compliance, auditability, and customer impact. The position demands exceptional technical rigor, requiring the manager to delve deep into pipeline architecture, data quality, failure modes, and performance bottlenecks. This depth will be used to elevate engineering excellence through strong design reviews, pragmatic standards, and mentorship.

Manage and grow a team of engineers Partner closely with Product, Compliance/Legal, and Analytics Drive delivery through clear technical decision-making and operational discipline Develop a deep understanding of the system design of ETL pipelines and their dependencies on upstream data sources Own key outcomes and metrics (accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and incident rates) Lead multi-quarter cross-org initiatives that measurably improve pipeline quality and reliability Own availability, reliability, and performance of your team’s systems Partner with product managers to design and build best-in-class systems and processes for collections Partner with a diverse set of engineering teams who build solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of a loan's repayment at Affirm Build relationships and engage with senior management in the organization

7+ years of proven experience as a software engineer with leadership responsibilities 2+ years as an engineering manager Drive to change consumer financial services for the better Prior experience growing and managing high performing engineering teams Fluency in back end system design Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining consumer scale products Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of basic loans lifecycle and credit reporting is a plus
