About the Role

Skillsoft is seeking an experienced Public Sector Account Executive to drive revenue and growth by building relationships with customers through digital communication. This role involves growing a sales territory comprising both existing customers and prospects, utilizing a hunter mentality and a strategic, solution-selling approach. As an Australian Public Sector Account Executive, you will actively prospect for new opportunities, applying a strategic, solution-selling approach to a diverse range of organizations and their goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding quotas and will be responsible for building an ambitious pipeline through outbound prospecting, creativity, and hard work. This position requires the ability to navigate complex organizations and engage with multiple decision-makers across the government landscape. Responsibilities

Manage and plan your success through identifying and securing customer acquisition across the territory. Drive top-line revenue growth through new customer acquisition. Sell Skillsoft solutions directly to government decision makers. Win by representing a solution line(s) with key competitive differentiators. Influence prospects at the senior leadership level. Partner with related sales, marketing, and support resources in the successful advancement of critical opportunities and market penetration. Develop a thorough understanding of Skillsoft sales plays. Meeting prep with research, agendas agreed on by prospect and a tailored presentation coupled with impeccable follow-up. Outline measurable and defined business objectives and goals with timelines, (related to revenue and growth of the federal space). Provide management, feedback and recommendations on pipeline health, risk, opportunity, and progress.

Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of direct sales experience, selling SaaS, B2B, enterprise software to VP, SVP, and C-Level Executives with outstanding quota attainment history. Experience selling into Australian Federal Government, as well as State Governments. Skilled at demonstrating solutions and speaking the language of corporate buyers, respectfully challenging their thinking. Ability to collaborate and leverage subject matter expertise in a matrixed sales environment. Ability to operate with a sense of urgency, be aggressive, competitive, and demonstrate a positive, winning attitude. Negotiate effectively based on value and time to close. Ability to understand complex client requirements and to clearly articulate the company’s offerings to develop solutions to meet those requirements. Expert knowledge/usage of Salesforce.com. Willingness to take ownership – and solve – problems. Disciplined, process-oriented approach to customer acquisition. Experience in the learning, human capital, human capital technology space is preferred but not required.
